DIGITALISATION ATLAS · AMS × DIGCOMP 3.0 AT
Digitalisation atlas by occupational field
How digital is each sector of the Austrian labour market — and in which competence dimension? The atlas averages the DigComp requirements of all rated occupations per occupational field, on the eight NQF-aligned levels.
Requirement level by field and competence area
Average NQF-oriented competence level across all occupations in a field, based on the classifications of the AMS Occupational Information System (BIS). The stronger the colour, the higher the digital requirement; the number shown is the average.

Field profile in comparison
Select an occupational field to compare its competence profile against the average across all fields.
Occupational profile vs. field average
How does an individual occupational profile deviate from its field's average? See the legend below the chart for an explanation of the lines.
Choose an occupational profile to compare it against its own field's average.
Occupational field profiles compared
Where does an occupational field's digitalisation focus lie? Choose up to 2 occupational fields to compare.

Sources & methodology: Occupational profiles: AMS Occupational Information System (BIS), production data as of 7. August 2026. Of 523 AMS core occupations (Stammberufe), 521 are fully mapped to the 6 competence areas (0–5) based on DigComp 2.3 AT and are thus compatible with the Digital Competence Model for Austria – DigComp 3.0 AT(opens in new tab) (fit4internet, 2026) per Domany-Funtan et al., and are evaluated here. Averages are the mean of the profile means ((lower bound + upper bound)/2) per competence area; the range extends from the minimum of the lower bounds to the maximum of the upper bounds across all profiles within the occupational field, or — for a single occupation — its own lower/upper bound. The values 1 to 8 are the competence levels oriented on the National Qualifications Framework (NQR), based on Digital Competence Model for Austria: DigComp 3.0 AT (2026) | Medienimpulse(opens in new tab) (Domany-Funtan et al., 2026).
