Understanding where one's own digital competence needs to be improved or updated; supporting others in their digital competence development; seeking opportunities for self-development and keeping up with the digital evolution.

Area 5: Problem-Solving, Innovation and Continuous Learning

Competence Area 5 relates to identifying and solving technical problems when using digital devices, applications and environments, as well as recognising needs and selecting appropriate technological responses. It encompasses the creative, innovative and human-centred use of digital technologies for knowledge creation and for innovating processes and products. Competence Area 5 further includes recognising and closing one's own digital competence gaps as well as supporting others in their competence development. Finally, it encompasses recognising opportunities for improvements and innovations and the targeted use of digital technologies to create concrete benefit and value for people, organisations and society.
